Love is the cornerstone.

• John 13:34 - … As I (Jesus) have loved you, so you must love one another.
  
• 1 Corinthians 13:13 – And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
  
• Colossians 2:2 - My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ,
  

Differences must be overcome with love.

• Proverbs 17:9 - Whoever would foster love covers over an offense, but whoever repeats the matter separates close friends.
  
• Philippians 2:3 - Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves
  
• Colossians 3:13 - Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
  
• 1 Peter 4:8 - Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.
  

Parents, treat your children gently and in love.

• Colossians 3:21 - Fathers, don’t upset your children. If you are too hard to please, they might want to stop trying.
  
• Ephesians 6:4 - Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.
  
• Titus 2:4-5 - ...Urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled...to be kind
  

Parents should govern their children with authority, tempered with patience, mercy, and truth.

• Proverbs 16:6 - In mercy and truth atonement is provided for iniquity; and by the fear of the Lord one departs from evil. (NKJV)
  
• Proverbs 29:15 - Punishment and discipline can make children wise, but children who are never corrected will bring shame to their mother.
  
• 1 Timothy 3:4 – [A man] must be a good leader of his own family. This means that his children obey him with full respect.
  
• 1 Timothy 3:12 [A man] must be faithful to his wife and must manage his children and his household well.
